Phase 4: Reflecting

January - February - March

The personal project encourages you to practice and strengthen your approaches to learning (ATL) skills, to consolidate prior and subject-specific learning, and to develop an area of personal interest. The personal project provides an excellent opportunity for you to produce a truly personal and often creative product/outcome and to demonstrate a consolidation of your learning in the MYP. The project offers many opportunities for differentiation of learning and expression according to your individual needs.

The personal nature of the project is important; the project should revolve around a challenge that motivates and interests you. You must develop a personal project independently.

Objective D: Reflecting

1.  evaluate the qualityof the product/outcome against the criteria

2.  reflect on how completing the project has extended their knowledge and understanding of the topic and the global context

3.  reflect on their development as an IB learner (refer to learner profile) through the project
